The Huachitorito
The dance "El Huachitorito" is a typical Chritmas dance, which is performed with instruments such as the quena, the violin, the guitar, the bass drum, the box and the accordion. Several couples participate in the dance, in rows or two or in a circle around the couple dancing in the center.
This dancing Christmas carol is interpreted while the Chritmas shepherds visit the nativity scenes of the different houses. The man imitated a bull while the woman wrestled with him with a red scarf. The dance is led by a foreman who rings a bell.
During the dance, several couples stand in a line, or they may form a circle around the couple moving towards the center. The man imitated a bull and the woman fought him with a red scarf untied from her waist.
